Becoming an E-in-C Using Paper.li

We know Gen Y’ers are not traditionalists when it comes to information. For example, while we’re manipulating words to fit into tny txt msgs, the print dictionary market is disappearing.  Gen Y’ers are info hungry and hunting, but doing it in different and digital ways.

Print publications have symbiotic websites, with some pubs existing exclusively online (see the online MTV mag, Fora.) There’s an appetite for media, but increasingly, we want to engage and be one with it with the rise of blogs and social media sharing options.

Smart services cater to our need for information optimization, offering ways for this multitasking and connected group to digest info more effectively, and more efficiently.

Enter Paper.li. One of the digital influencers I follow on Twitter and on my blog reader has started tweeting out a “social media a list daily” using this format. Paper.li is a fresh way to share news in a handy newsletter. Sign into the service using Twitter or Facebook, enter a username, hastag or topic for the service to search, and it generates a multimedia formatted newsletter to share content with your followers and friends.

It will create a Flickr-like photo stream and collection of videos as well as printed material. The service also sections material off into beats.

Since the newsletter updates every 24 hours, you won’t miss a linked tweet. With news this personalized, you probably wouldn’t want to anyway.
