An old tradition is new again with high tea
A few months ago when my wonderful former colleague Elynn was about to get married, GCI Group hosted a splendid event in her honour.
We had a tea party!

When the office meeting invite came out, we expected cake and perhaps some bubbly. When we walked into the boardroom, we were delighted to see a setup of English bone china tea cups, scones, cream and jam, and a lesson in how to properly pour the loose leaf as per tradition.

Torontonian Marilyn Mirabelli provides the service Simply Splended Victorian Afternoon Teas. The idea is to “recapture the charm and the elegance of this splendid English tradition in your home.”
Armed with a gorgeous collection of valuable tea cups, Mirabelli made a unique service from capturing our interest, and steeping it in time-honoured tradition. It was a brilliant way to commemorate Elynn, because it was elegant and interesting. It also tasted as good as it looked.
In this instance, what’s old was really new again.
