Life Mirrors Art for Jennifer Heil

This past September, luxury jewellery store Birks named Canadian freestyle mogul skier Jennifer Heil its ambassador. With the partnership came Heil’s signature all-silver collection, featuring Olympic references in bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings.

Would the all-silver collection inspire a medal?

As we learned on February 13th, yes, and it seems life mirrored art. Heil won second place - silver - inspiring Canadians with the first medal of the Games.

Perhaps Heil jinxed herself - as she won gold in the past at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games - but what a story! A world champion inspires an all-silver line and goes on to win silver at the Olympics.

So what came first, the pendants or the podium? It will be interesting to see how Birks responds to this. I’ll be watching!
